Mawlānā Kamil Sakhi grew up in Flushing, New York. After completing middle school in 2011, he enrolled in the 7-year ʿĀlim Course program at Darul ʿUloom New York and graduated with high honors in 2018. During the ʿĀlim Course, he would travel to New Jersey on the weekends to complete the 10 modes of Qur’ānic recitation (ʿAshara Qirā’āt) under Muftī Abdul Muqtadir, the student of Qārī Aḥmadullāh of Dabhel, India. Mawlānā Kamil was one of the first two students to complete all 10 modes of Quranic Recitation.

Mawlānā Ṣāḥib’s spiritual mentor is Shaykh al-Ḥadīth Mawlānā Rafiq Ahmad (May Allāh protect him), the Khalīfah of Mawlānā Abrār al-Ḥaq (May Allāh have mercy on him). After graduating from the ʿĀlim Course, he enrolled in the Muftī Course at Darul ʿUloom and studied under the head Muftī, Muftī Manzoor Ahmed, who is the student of the world-renowned scholar Muftī Taqi Uthmani. Mawlānā Kamil graduated in 2020 as one of the first graduate from the Iftā’ department. After graduation, he was honored to be a member of American Fiqh Academy.

Under the supervision of his teacher, Muftī Manzoor Ahmed, he founded Al-Hikmah Institute in January 2021. Currently, he renders his services in Masjid Bilal, Masjid Hamza, Hillside Islamic Center, and he serves as the president of Al-Hikmah Institute.
